Word. I traded for two of his prints last year... "turning to fall" and the heart on sleeve one, I don't remember the title but Justine has that one. Also Justine had him make an original so I have that too. I'll try and post a pic of it to this thread sometime.

just realized the psychic babble art will probably be amazing, considering the rest of colin's work.

I asked him about that and he said he wasn't sure if he was doing it or not and that he might just use an old picture. I also told him that I wanted to shoot promo's for his project since that would be cool and that I've never thought to ask to do some with the full band. I'm only close to them when there's a show though, but I figure rounding up just Colin would be easier than the full band. I dunno when I'll see them again though. Anyway, yeah the first sentence is the only relevant sentence that I'm posting.

Bought Tambo tonight on the off white. Really like how simple it is. Plus 1,000 Witnesses sold out :/, I waited just a little too long on that..
I want my name to waltz right off of their tongues,

Quote

Product Description
By the time Timber Marlow is fifteen years old, she has already killed three men. Despite the bloody and violent nature of their deaths, Timber is hardly a murderer, at least not in the traditional sense of the word. She has lived her entire life as a cannibal within a cult tucked away in the San Bernardino Mountains called the Divinity of Feminine Reproach. The Divinity keeps itself isolated from the Outside, which is the mainstream society beyond its invisible borders. When the opportunity presents itself, Timber escapes into the Outside, bearing witness to some dark and unsettling truths about the world around her and the integral role she plays in it. And no matter how long she stays away, Timber finds out the past isn't as far away as she thinks it is. In this debut novel, laced with scenes of horrific violence and uplifting humanity, Martin Lastrapes has written a one-of-a-kind story about love, friendship, sacrifice, and cannibalism.

That was a really neat article. Colin is awesome though, no arguments there. Psychic Babble = :) And am currently trying to find a frame for the signed poster that came with it all.

Is that book gonna be in stores, or is it only an online deal? Because, I'm interested in reading it.

colin definitely has so much potential. His paintings do reach for something great, but often i look at his work and think. man this guy needs more technical skill to pull of what he's doing well. Or technical skill to realize what he could do. Not that he even has to do it.  His creative/intuitive side is definitely there which is great, but his painting style always seems like it's trying to do something more than it's doing. I see his paintings and think, man this could be pushed so much further it'd be so good. I can see him getting to that point with his dedication, but at the moment i don't think he's there yet. Not to say that he hasn't made some good & interesting work. But i can't help but be critical of him because i'm around this kind of stuff all the time. Painting in the fine art world is a hard gig. There's a lot of competition. I can say that colin is a really lucky dude, because he's made painting a hobby/side project after he has already gained a lot of attention. It just means he's gonna get really great at some point, but i think he just has a lot of catching up to do to really make a heavy mark on the world.
