  1. Circa Survive "Violent Waves" Discussion (08.28.2012)

with the HQ, there's so much more little stuff you pick up on. i love it. for example, in the quiet guitar interlude in My Only Friend right before it gets huge, you can heaer Anthony breathe deeply right before it 'drops'. i can just picture Anthony going crazy

if my school is any indication, (which it probably isnt)...this CD is drawing so many fans. everyone loves Imaginary Enemy, which in turn, get's people to get the CD. seriously, Circa is sprouting up everywhere and I LOVE IT
  3. Circa song that had the greatest impact on you

off of Blue Sky Noise Frozen Creek musically Spirit of the Stairwell lyrically The Longest Mile collectively. everything about that song owns me

i like it better when it's distant in the studio version. imo though. Spirit of the Stairwell got worlds better for me today. Same with I Felt Free. love this album also, Imaginary Enemy got a lot better for me as well because it has its own definite place in this album. when it was released as a single, it was just one song. but it's a great flow from I Felt Free to Through the Desert Alone. each song is a chapter. this album is a book. it just...flows.

well, 2nd day is always better for listening to a new album. man oh man. 1st listens of albums are starting to be an uneasy feeling for me. after them, now, i can just sit back and enjoy and not over-anticipate things happening. each song is truly glorious. The Longest Mile is so epic. I Felt Free is so anthemic. Frozen Creek is so breathtaking. Fever Dreams is so eerie and engaging. Strange Terrain's chorus and screams melt my facee! and Dyed in Wool is a great closer, so subtle yet so powerful. all the rest is fantastic also; these are just the standouts. THANK YOU CIRCA
  8. Thank You Circa Survive

THANK YOU CIRCA. this took me a couple of listens, probably cos there is soooo much going on in each song! but, this is indeed a fantastic album. Anthony sounds great. instrumentation is massive, and collectively, the band sounds AWESOME. I love Frozen Creek so much. i love the strings in I Felt Free and Frozen Creek. I love when the kids sing. I love everything about Fever Dreams, Strange Terrain and Dyed in Wool. Juturna, On Letting Go and Blue Sky Noise each have their own place in Circa's world. and for that, i love this band.
