  1. Can anyone verify the sound at their show? I went to this a few weeks ago and to be brutally honest the sound mix was utter shit. The guys all did a fantastic job but I could barely hear anyone over Ant's vocals. Similar issues with Circa last summer. Did my venues just suck? Lots of fun other then that!
  2. lol, I didn't even notice a guest vocal - I'm loving The Lottery but all I hear is the instruments. I don't think Geoff is a bad vocalist at all.
  3. Still waiting for my goods....I ordered late though. Got the Download - this album......this album. I remember the exact same feeling of uncertainty when I listened to Juturna. I don't think it sounds a lot like it but the feeling is so similar. It's taken six or seven listens, and it isn't as if I didn't like it the first times through. I just keep catching more things to love about it every time. This is not a safe album for the band in my opinion. I think it's nearly flawless in it's execution though, and that they have always given the listener enough credit to provide a listen that is a bit more challenging. Brother Song is near the top of my list with Blood From A Stone obviously dominating everything. I almost can't drive while listening to it, lol.
  4. Respectfully disagree. I think the last time he sang a note to impress anyone was on an album entitled "Translating The Name". He is getting older and he's already losing the ease with which his range is executed. It will eventually happen to just about every vocalist and its OK. I do agree with you that he sounds no less impressive then ever though.
  5. I'm going to cave I think...the 30 second clips haven't ruined an album for me yet. Can't decide. I've so far avoided all demo and live clips, it made suitcase REALLY amazing the first time I heard it. I gotta say the guitars from Suitcase are entirely Circa Survive brand axing. Wandering, tandem harmony soaked with echo. Don't be surprised that this is the trend. He DOES have somewhat of a high voice but the octave down accoustic performances from BSN are his actual natural range. You just don't get to sing tht high forever, at least not with any conviction. He's wise to not try and keep it up.
  6. All the packages selling split 5 ways is only like $5k each, barely 2 months salary for an average income after taxes and not including explenses for the record so probably even less. It's really not much to live on while not touring and until the album is released. The nice thing is that we have the opportunity to get some new music and contribute much more fully now that they are without a label. They can actually make some money on record sales now. Its going to be a lot harder without distribution but social media helps with that a lot. If it seems like they are hyping the release its because THEY HAVE TO. I was pretty much ready to buy the $750 package bu tI'll have to settle for what ever I can get now. Glad it's doing well but I wish they would have done 200 of the second package instead of 100. Fuck fuck fuck. If the guys ever make it to this thread, PLEASE consider offering more of the bigger pre-order packages. $250 looks to be sold out.
  7. Holy fuck, suitcase!! Echoes? Reverb? Layers on stacks of layers? This production is what I loved about this band from the beginning! I'm absolutely impressed. Trying to decide whether to spend $250 or $750 right now.
  8. Seeing this Friday. We always seem to get Friday shows here in Salt Lake City...Anyway I'm pretty excited. I've heard this is a show for the ages.
  9. Got on the guest list through The Dear Hunter's limited fanclub. =D This is going to be a phenomenal show, I'm ecstatic!
  10. OMG CHINO? Two of my favorite vocalists of all time in one song??? So so very awesome. I've always read about Deftones being a big influence for the guys in Circa, its fucking sweet that Ant is working with Moreno. Also, I just want to add that I never really got big into Avalon but this newer stuff is really impressive - and its going to be BIG.
  11. Can't seem to buy tickets yet. Making me a bit crazy because the venue capacity is only 850.....
  12. Is it just Dan/GOW supporting AG or are the boys playing a Good Old set?
  13. Exercise

I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
  14. Circa Survive Fall Tour 2011

    Pft. Stay OUTTA UTAH THEN.
  15. Chiodos vs D.R.U.G.S

Why would I do that? It would totally be hypocritical because my whole point is that people with bad voices shouldn't get credit for being good singers just because they try so hard to have some sort of inflection by eeking out shaky falsetto's and screaming. Chiodos and Owens rode the wave of hardcore popularity with high pitched vocalists. The musicians have some talent but none of them are amazing in context with the rest of most post-hardcore bands.
