Anthony Green - Chronological Bandography

Recommended Posts

QUOTE(Jon @ Dec 1 2008, 10:48 PM) 197092[/snapback]

Can anyone compile a timeline of every band Anthony has been in with years of activity? I would really love to know.

Let me know if you know of any legitimate changes that need be made.

I use the OLG skin, so to see this post as i see it, [things line up better] switch it up for a minute, if need be.

[i just realized the size of the board is different for the Juturna/OLG skins]

"Handsome Pete" never recorded anything. It was Anthony and Tommy D rehearsing/playing/jamming together. Grind-core stuff and Slayer covers. They played 2 shows under this name in Spring 1998 with a drummer from La Salle named Evan. Supposidly the show, though under the name "Handsome Pete" was really early "Audience Of One" material. Evan was still in the band when they changed their name to "Audience Of One". But not for very long afterward.

"Handshakes At Sunrise [early demo]" is the only thing released that can be considered "Vitalis" (There are 2 more demos from that time-period that never surfaced]. Camille Driscol was playing keys in the band and was a merch girl for "From First To Last" and on that tour in Mid April 2004 she said the name of the band was "Vitalis" and played 3 tracks for people. One of which was HAS [early demo]. Supposidly nothing was ever recorded with Camille in the band.

"Cicada Lyre" was the band name pre-"Circa Survival" for half a moment [Late May 2004] and nothing was released under this name.

When "Handshakes At Sunrise (2nd Demo)" was leaked, the file name said "Circa Survival". They must have changed the name a bunch of times from April to June.

Look at the bottom of this post: http://circaboard.com/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=186689

ps. also, this is me cobbling together info, so some could be way off.

Handsome Pete? I've never heard of that...

Also AP.net announced the name as "Circa Survival" in May of 04 and there was a whole debate on what the real name was. At the end of the day, all of them were / are Circa Survive.

In May 2004, the name changed a few times, as far as i know.

It wasn't people misreading the name. It was members with-in the band giving different names for the band as weeks went by.

"Cicada Lyre", "Circa Survival", and then "Circa Survive". I didn't hear the name "Vitalis" until years later researching this.

had_043.jpg

On May 22, 2004 High And Driving opened for Piebald at the Trocadero in Philadelphia.

Sammy, who is now Admin of the SaoBoard was at this show, as was I.

She took the footage of Baby Girl with the horrible audio that you can now find on youtube, etc.

Sammy must've talked with Ant at this show and he must've hinted at the name "Cicada Lyre".

She soon posted on the Fear Before The March Of Flames Board that "Cicada Lyre" was the name of his new band.

[All Quotes from SaoBoard]

no [HAD] lyrics... i gotta remind ant to email them to me.

anyway he just called me and we talked about a few things-

the next few shows he plays are probably just going to be solo.

there's also this huge secret about his new project (now called "circa survival" officially) that will prevent him from working on HAD for a while. he can't even tell me the secret... but yeah.

look out for an announcement about circa survival soon.

Anthony Green (ex Saosin) and ex members of This Day Forward are in a band together called Circa Survival. It's like a really chill version of Mars Volta, but with Anthony singing. Since This Day Forward were on Equal Vision, this band will be on Equal Vision. More information coming soon.
hi, my name is information.
the NEW project is called "cicada lyre"
sammy on fbtmof board.
anthony told me the name of the new band is called circa survive.
brian's right... this project has had like 3 names, but they're sticking with circa survive/survival, whatever.

and yes, they are definitely on EVR.

some people who have seen from first to last recently may have been able to hear some OLD stuff, because fftl's merch girl, camilla, is playing keys in the band.

but anthony told me he hates that stuff and what they're working on now is very different... and as far as i know, no one's heard it.

On May 31, 2004 on the SaoBoard, "Handshakes At Sunrise (Early Demo)" leaked as: circa_survival-untitled_song-vin.mp3
and chamille, the merch girl for from first to last is the keyboardist but from what i understand she had nothing to do with that song thats floating around..she let me hear three of the songs they recorded and they all seemed pretty good
fonzie8686 saw "From First To Last" at the Skate and Surf Fest 2004 in Asbury Park, NJ which was April 16-18, 2004.

Camille had told him that the name of the band was "Vitalis". He also confirmed one of the songs as "Handshakes At Sunrise (1st Demo)".

Mid June 2004, "Handshakes At Sunrise (2nd Demo)" leaked.

the song is called "handshakes at sunrise"

confusion about the name... i'm still not sure if it's circa SURVIVE or SURVIVAL.

last time i heard it was survival, but i have a finished version of the demo and it's tagged with survive... ant has to call me back.

dammit i don't want to make another LJ community.

edit... guess i have to, it's surVIVE

"we're hopeing to be in the studio by early sept.Equal vision records will be putting out the full length ealry next year. brian Mcternan the dude who recorded texas is the reason, converge, hot water music, cave in, snapcase, engine down, danali, thrice, piebald, moments in grace, bane, battery, milemarker, reach the sky, fairweather, hot rode circuit ,frodus, ben davis, ten yard fight, the explosion, jejune, is going to produce it. at the moment we are still writting songs ---i love the summer on the east coast.it may possible to start playing by oct. we will be relaseing some music and stuff online all summer.the song handshakes at dawn will be on the equal vision summer sampler along with code7, alexisonfire, time in malta, fear before...ect. hope you dig it......stay in touch and thanks again."
