September 241 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 Anthony Green - Young Legs (LP3) [2013] Recent News: During May and June 2013, Anthony Green and Will Yip released a series of VineVids from the Young Legs recording sessions: Vid 1 . Vid 2 . Vid 3 . Vid 4 . Vid 5 . Vid 6 . Vid 7 . Vid 8 . Vid 9 . Vid 10 Archived News: Anthony Green: Review Rinse Repeat Interview . [01.19.11] (01.26.11) . By: Shawn Flanagan Shawn@RRR: It was said that once the band was done recording Blue Sky Noise, that you would begin to work on your next solo album, titled Beautiful Things. What is the status of the record? Anthony Green: ...The other day I had this idea, I woke up and wrote all this stuff down, and one of the things that I wrote was that I was going to can this solo record and write another one the next time we had time off. Get those dudes to come back for like 10 days, do another album, and save the stuff we have for a third solo album. I don't really know why. I think it's because this album is really weird. The songs aren't just acoustic, it's just really strange. POZ: Will that be on a label? Anthony: That will be on Photo Finish. That will be my last record on a major label solo wise. I will never sign another record contract ever again. As soon as I'm legally allowed to, the next solo record will be released called Young Legs. From that point on, everything I do will be released for free on my website. http://circaboard.co...=...st&p=391340 'Young Legs' Mentioned Tracklist (Acoustic Demos?): Hospital Pills Blue Walls People Smoking Nurses Time To Think Think Too Much Wishing I Was Dead Can't Eat Not Being Able To Go Outside OCD Bi-Polar Hearing Things Nothing Feels Good Anymore If you know any other info, please post it here. September 241 Report post Posted April 10, 2011 according to this radio interview: [thanks to jacky13516] http://circaboard.com/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=376387 he said 'beautiful things' is pretty much done, but he wants to hold onto it and not release it just yet, because he's so into doing circa stuff right now and is really excited about cs's new material. he mentioned early 2012 as a possible timeframe for the release of 'beautiful things'. he also went on to mention his third solo album which he wants to call 'young legs', which would be released shortly after 'beautiful things'. ᜏR 100 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Ah seriously that James song is too nice. I love the way he sings in it and the melodies.. I just imagine so much into that song it's so so sweet. I hope he fleshes it out more in a recording. It's already good imo, but I sense a lot more potential in it. I wonder what his plans are for that song. I have a feeling young legs is going to be about his son. That might be pretty obvious though
September 241 Report post Posted May 18, 2011 i just asked him about the delay because their weird... and he said he never said that so lol 04/05/11 Interview: Interviewer: So you mentioned Circa's next step. Is there another step coming for your solo work? Is there going to be another album? Anthony: There is. There's another album that's pretty much done. That I think... Interviewer: More good news coming from Mr. Green. Anthony: Yeah, but I think I'm going to hold on to it for a little bit because I'm really focused on what's happening with Circa now and this... If my solo record has to wait until maybe, you know, um early 2012 to come out. um. that is next year right? Interviewer: yes. yes. Anthony: [laugh] ok. cool. uh.. Interviewer: So just before the world ends, right? [laugh] Anthony: Just before. Or maybe right after I think would be the best spot. Interviewer: Okay. Anthony: Because then all of the new people that are there. maybe those people will buy records. [laugh] Interviewer: Yeah. Hopefully. We're gonna need em. So, um, your last solo album Avalon you recorded Good Old War Anthony: uh hmm Interviewer: ...had a big part in it, if I'm not mistaken Anthony: Yep Interviewer: And we've had them play before. Have they, uh, they've been... they actually played a CUB RAT show before. Anthony: They actually came down the entire time I was writing this record. Interviewer: The new one? Anthony: I had it written. They came down the entire time we were... I was recording and they play on the entire thing. Interviewer: On the new one? Anthony: The new one. Interviewer: That is incredibly good news. Anthony: They all... It's so... They've added so much diversity to the sound that it's... it's not just acoustic guitar songs anymore. There's all this weird stuff happening and uh... the songs are real weird. I love it. I'm really excited and um... since Circa started writing and I almost kind of... not directly... but sort of put this off a little bit, uh... I started writing another album, that i think I'm gonna call... I'm calling it 'Young Legs'. Interviewer: Alright! Anthony: And I don't know when that... Interviewer: And that won't be the one coming out at some point early 2010, before the world ends 2012? Anthony: No, that'll be... That'll come out like... I think I might just put that out right after 'Beautiful Things' comes out, after the world ends. Interviewer: Okay. So 'Beautiful Things' will be the title of your next solo album? Anthony: Yeah. Interviewer: Okay. I like that alot. Anthony: You like that? Interviewer: Yeah. Um... So... Oh geez... you know what? I just lost my train of thought. Anthony: That's okay. (8:16-10:12) http://www.mediafire.com/?4idraadc65b9598 http://circaboard.com/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=376387 http://circaboard.com/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=376398 http://circaboard.com/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=251953 It seems that the 'weirdness' or 'strangeness' of the "Beautiful Things' songs/recordings inspired him to want to write/record the "Young Legs" album. He seems to want to 'hold onto' 'Beautiful Things' because he's really focused on what's happening with Circa right now. This suggests he will tour in support of "Beautiful Things' right at it's release (accompanied by), just as he did with 'Avalon' and that requires some amount of free time away from Circa during and to plan and rehearse before the tour. This image also suggests that Anthony is planning not just a tour but a 'world tour' which would be even more expansive and require more time to plan and execute. so it seems when 'Beautiful Things' is released. Circa Survive will be on a break for a few months.

FaiNt 11 Report post Posted May 19, 2011 does anyone know if ant has played any potential Young Leg songs?
September 241 Report post Posted May 19, 2011 I talked to Anthony and Colin last night, and they both said Beautiful Things will be released late December this year or early next year. Colin also mentioned that Anthony is planning a small tour for that period, and he may be going with Psychic Babble if he can get a band together. Anthony is also debating on including some of the songs he planned for Young Legs on Beautiful Things, just because he is so stoked about them. nice. thanks for seeking out this update and sharing it will all of us. does anyone know if ant has played any potential Young Leg songs? tC4ACo1P4Es not 100% on any of this, but... it seems like untitled (james) might be one of them. @16:27 and also untitled (what did you see in me?) might be another. @ 35:

ibelieveso 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2012 i'm all for anthony playing with good old war, those dudes rule. but does anyone else want an album of just anthony and his guitar? i really feel like he would knock something like that out of the park. i miss the days where it was just him up on stage. again, not taking anything away from GOW. i love the addition, but i think it would be so much more bad ass if it were just him and 6 strings for one album or an EP or something.
