Anthony on LP5: "i'm not even home for like a day before i'm in the studio"

looks like circa writing/jamming over the next month.

not sure what exactly hes talking about 'studio' wise.

also seems to be leaving saosin collabs wide open.

3 west coast tourdates in june announced today.

so yeah could be a summer release. time will tell.

This is just one man's opinion, but I feel like they've never gotten too proggy aside from a song or two per album (even then, not so much on the past two).

I'm not a prog snob at all. In fact, I can only handle so much. Excited to listen to the song Steve is talking about though because I love it when Circa gets weird.

I wouldnt hesitate to describe songs like glorious nosebleed, stop the car, golden baby, and house of leaves as proggy.

sure they dont sound like vanilla "prog rock" but circa has def been proggy before.

So since the tour starts soon does anyone think that means theyre done tracking for lp5?

i dont think theyre done tracking.

http://circaboard.tu...ost/84577082180

they have almost 2 weeks.

then 3 shows over that weekend.

saosin club show, saosin festival show, circa festival show.

then 3 full weeks before the west coast saosin shows begin.

which is 3 club shows in 3 nights.

it looks like theyre taking weekends off anyway.

then almost 2 weeks until the first circa show of the summer tour.

so theres alot of time in there for lp5 if needed.

sept. can you screen shot the board idea from their instagram video? It has a list of what I presume to be song names.. idk how to make it bigger lol

im guessing the numbers by the names are song lengths?

i was kinda thinking it might be the band voting on which ideas to track or pursue

because the 0 one was crossed out and i only see 0-6, maybe will yip gets a vote. but a 3 is crossed out too.

then i was thinking it might be which vocal ideas could match up with which instrumental ideas,

but it looks like 10 vocal ideas are listed. and 0 wouldnt make any sense in that theory, so...

so yeah. you very well might be right

I'm liking the working titles: Only the Sun, Drug Mule, Fangs, Social Club & Manson Fam.

Not 100% on a few of those though.

I love that they're posting little clips of the recording process. It kind of reminds me of the sequences for Blue Sky Noise in that they got me (and I think everyone) really excited for what was coming and I was able to identify little clips of songs that I loved even though we didn't have a full song. I didn't feel that same building of anticipation for Violent Waves so it's cool to have that back this time around.
